Sad sight at the VMR today...

Really, really, really sad sight at work today :( Found this dead shag on Coldingham bay tangled up in a fishing lure.

The bird had obviously got it caught in its beak diving for a fish then tried to use its foot to get it out and got it caught there too so it must have drowned and died a really horrible death. So sad :( Anglers - use the correct gear and rig design to avoid losing it, everyone - take your litter home with you so we don't see this sad sight anymore please...
