Karen signs up for the summer

Each year the Marine Reserve takes on a Voluntary Seasonal Ranger to help the Marine Ranger over the busy summer season. This year's incombant is Karen Collins, from Hexham.

Karen joined us on 7th April and will be spending a 6 month period working alongside the Marine Ranger, Liza Cole. Whilst she is helping to lighten the heavy summer workload, she will also be getting on-the-job training and gaining invaluable experience in the management of a Marine Nature Reserve.
