IntroductionA visit to St. Abbs is a must for all hoiliday makers and divers alike. St. Abbs is a small finshing village situated on the east coast some 45 miles south of Edinburgh and approximately 12 miles north of the historic town of Berwick-upon-tweed. For the diver, St. Abbs offers some of the best scenic diving in Britain. It is well known for it's excellent visibility, marine life and flora and faunca. Diving at St. Abbs is suitable for all levels of sport divers. For the hoiliday maker there are some unrivialled scenic walks on St. Abbs head which has a large sea birs colony. Or alternatively, why not view the colony and magnificent scenery by boat leaving from St. Abbs? Why not trey a few hours fishing (all gear supplied) aboard the "Lazy G-Diver" which can cater for eight anglers comfortably per trip. The "Lazy G-Diver" is a 31 foot wooden built boat, forward wheelhouase with a large open deck. She operates under the MCAs code of practice and is full insured, carrying all the modern safety equipment. She is fitted with a variety of electronic navigation aids. She is currently licensed to caryy 12 passengers ans oxygen is avaliable on board. Alistair CroweBorn and breed in St. Abbs. Alistair has an inherited wealth of local knowledge of the sea and the surrounding area. His father before him was a whaler and inshore fisherman. Spending most of has working life on the sea. Alistair has been a fisherman since he left school and has owned various vessels over the years. He currently owns the trawler "Millennia" which fishes from Eyemouth for prawns also the St. Abbs based dive boat "Lazy G-Diver" A qualified diver himself he has a first hand knowledge of all the diving to be enjoyed along this section of the coast. He started taking divers on his fishing boat called the "Artic Star" some 15 years ago when he realised that diving was becoming more popular and the demand for hard boat diving was increasing. Having spent 35 years with the RNLI, 30 years at sea and the last 5 years in charge of running St. Abbs Lifeboat Station, Alistairhas gained a vast knowledge of safety at sea. He has completed all RNLI safety and first aid courses on a regular 3 year basis. ServiceAlistair has been providing boat charter services for the past 10 years with great expertise, knowledge and with a good sense of humour. He has been invoolved in the making of several film productions, survey work and private hirs. Any reequirements can be catered for. Tea/Coffee is always avaliable onboard. Whatever the trip, Alistair always aims to give the visitor a high standard of professionalism, enjoyment and vaule for money.
